QR is quick to start. Bulk messaging needs another route.

Connecting WhatsApp with a QR code and sending from a Meta-verified line are not the same thing.

There are two ways to connect WhatsApp to your company account. Both get you connected, but they are not suited to the same job.

QR connection

A QR session is fast: you scan the code with your phone and the inbox opens. For everyday conversations, that is enough. Bulk messaging this way, however, raises the risk of the number being banned. The rules are set out in the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy. Hiding that risk in the small print only means explaining it later, which is why our case study states it openly.

Meta Cloud API

The Meta Cloud API is the official line verified by Meta. Regular bulk sending should go through it. Setup takes longer than a QR scan; in return, the line is registered in your company’s own name.

Which route you choose depends on your message volume. Current terms are on the Products page. How a team shares one WhatsApp line is covered in our shared inbox post.
